What is the
Foundation Program?

The MentorMate University Foundation Program is a six-month training program that provides tutoring to help ambitious talents launch their careers as software engineers, data engineers, or quality engineers. During the program, you will receive both theoretical knowledge and practical assignments. Depending on your knowledge and career interests, you’ll focus on a specific area: software development (with .NET, Java, React, or React Native), data engineering, or quality engineering. Requirements
  • Good understanding of code and algorithms, as well as strong analytical skills
  • Basic knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages and technologies: Java, .Net (C#), JavaScript, or React/React Native
  • Technical background (university degree, high school diploma, programming  course)
  • Passion for learning and desire to work with diverse technologies
  • Good communication and teamwork skills and the ability to take ownership of your work
  • Proficient English skills, allowing you to communicate with teammates on a daily basis

Phase 1
Introduction

In the first two months of the Foundation Program, you’ll learn the basics of software development, data engineering, or quality engineering and get to know your teammates and Software Talent Trainers. You’ll meet with the Software Talent Trainers twice a week, for two hours each. Those meetings will guide you through the program and help you develop your IT skills.

Phase 2
Work on Demo Projects

This two-month period provides an overview of MentorMate’s approach and prepares you to succeed in the next training phase. This period is highly intensive. Be ready to invest 40 hours a week in developing a demo project that prepares you for a real-work environment. You will use various technologies based on your career interest. During this period, we invest in your professional growth by providing training materials and guidance from experienced Software Talent Trainers. Additionally, the top performers are offered scholarships and the opportunity to join MentorMate after finishing this phase.

Phase 3
Become an Expert

By the time you reach the third phase, you’ll have substantial knowledge in software development, data engineering, or quality engineering, some practical experience, and the opportunity to grow your expertise further. We will keep powering your career growth by providing training materials and guidance from the Software Talent Trainers. Furthermore, the top performers in this stage will also be granted scholarships.

FAQ

The purpose of the Foundation Program is to provide you with the necessary skills to become an engineer in a given field. The process includes going through online materials and homework with the assistance of a Software Talent Trainer. Additionally, you will participate in a demo project to provide you with valuable experience which you can use in the future. The program is highly intensive, and you should be ready to invest 40 hours а week in Phase 2 and Phase 3.

MentorMate University will provide scholarships of up to $3,600 to encourage some of the participants for their great performance throughout the program. We will take into account the quality of your homework, your contribution to the demo projects, and the frequency of your participation in the team meetings.

Generally, we advise you to have a machine that can handle platforms used to code which will not overwhelm it. The minimum technical requirement of your equipment — RAM: 4 GB, free hard disk space: 30 GB, and OS: Win/Mac/Linux. You need to have headphones with a microphone, a camera, and a stable internet connection for better collaboration during the meetings.

Once you graduate from our Foundation Program, you will receive a MentorMate University certificate validating your expertise in a given topic/field. You will be considered to join MentorMate permanently.
